To us, every one of our volunteers are superheroes. But that doesn’t mean that they have to come to us with superpowers. Giving up even a few hours to make tea and chat makes a huge difference to many of our patients’ sense of wellbeing.
Thank you for considering becoming a volunteer. Our services rely heavily on the selfless volunteers who give up their time to help others. We'll guide you through all of the steps needed to become a volunteer, and we’ve a comprehensive 'welcoming' process so you’ll feel ready to make a tangible difference from day one.

What to expect
You can view current volunteering vacancies below or email us and tell us you’re interested.
If you aren’t set on a specific role, one of our team will meet with you, chat through your likes, interests and any relevant skills and together we’ll work out what role you're most suited to.
You'll be given all the training you need to carry out your role, and you'll have the chance to meet our staff and other volunteers at an induction day. All you need to bring with you is a smile.
Our volunteer team are vitally important to the work of the hospice. You’ll be given clear instructions on who to report to, and who to speak to if you’re unsure about anything.
Volunteer Services COVID-19 Update
COVID-19 has changed the way that we live and work and as a result the Hospice has had to make some difficult but necessary changes. This includes temporarily standing down our amazing volunteers and, for now, halting recruitment of new volunteers. However, we are looking at how we can involve volunteers in reshaping our services so please do check back for updates.
