Domestic Services Assistant

Permanent

Hospice Band 2 – Starting Salary £21,230 WTE (salary may rise to £22,263 WTE per annum subject to satisfactory performance) + Unsocial Hours Shift Allowance + Pension + Benefits

1 Permanent Position: 22.5h per week, over 5 days, Monday to Sunday: Late shift: 14:00-18:30

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic individuals to join our friendly, hard-working team who helps to provide a range of cleaning related duties across the hospice in a professional manner and to set procedures and high standards.

Cleaning experience is desirable although full training will be given. Responsibilities will include general cleaning tasks such as the disposal of refuse, high / low dusting, cleaning sanitary areas, wet mopping, cleaning of patient equipment, etc. Staff uniform will be provided.

The ability to work on you own initiative and as part of a team is essential as is having good communication skills and the ability to prioritise and organise the daily duties, whilst maintaining a professional approach at all times regardless of the situation. 

Experience with cleaning equipment or working within a healthcare setting would be an advantage, as would knowledge of COSHH, manual handling and infection control, but this is not essential as full training will be provided. You must be prepared to work shift patterns which also include weekends. Please indicate in your application form if you are applying for an Early or Late shift pattern.

STARTING SALARY: The starting salary for all appointments (irrespective of experience or current salary) is 'Step 1' of the Hospice salary scale


PAY PROGRESSION: Salary will be reviewed following 12 months service and, subject to satisfactory performance in the role and at the discretion of the Hospice, salary may rise to 'Step 2'.
