Volunteer Services supports the staff and volunteers of St. Columba’s Hospice. We are looking for a volunteer to help us with our Better Impact database and who can support our Iona Café Manager and Lead Receptionist with their volunteer rotas. We are a small, friendly team and this is an opportunity to learn a new database system and experience life both in a Hospice and in a busy volunteer services department.
Hospice staff and volunteers are expected to reflect our Hospice Values in the way they carry out their roles, and in their interactions with each other and with patients, family members and any other visitors.

The Better Impact Database
Supporting Iona Café and Reception with rotas
Other admin as required
Previous experience of database work may be helpful but is not essential as full training will be given
Excellent organisational skills
Calm and unflappable with a sense of humour
The ability to work as part of a team with a helpful and flexible approach
Excellent communication skills
Confident speaking to people on the telephone
A good understanding of confidentiality and boundaries
The ability to relate to a wide range of people and to quickly build trust and confidence
One morning/ afternoon per week.
The role will be reviewed on a yearly basis
