5th International Symposium for the Arts in Palliative Care – St Columba’s Hospice Palliative Care, Edinburgh

5th International Symposium for the Arts in Palliative Care

5th International Symposium for the Arts in Palliative Care

Our annual international symposium returns for its fifth year on Friday 15th November 2024.

This hybrid event will be held in our beautiful event space, No.17, and online via Zoom.

This event builds on the spirit of our past symposia (2020, 2021, 2022, 2023) all of which were fully booked attracting arts therapists, community artists, socially engaged arts practitioners as well as other professionals and scholars within and beyond palliative care internationally.

This year’s theme – “Creative health care and dying” – brings to the fore and critically explores diverse practice, research and policy drivers that shape and influence the arts in palliative care. Local, national and international perspectives are invited. Offering a vibrant and brave space for dialogue among people from different professional, disciplinary and sociocultural contexts is at the heart of this event. The symposium will feature different types of presentations and topics to include personal stories and examples, new emerging practices, critical perspectives on evidence as well as leadership and wider organisational issues for the arts in palliative care.
