Finance Assistant

Maternity cover for 7 months

Hospice Band 4 £25,591 per annum + Pension + Benefits

Full-time (37.5 hours per week)

The role is a part-time Finance Assistant covering purchase ledger, sales ledger, cashier duties, recording income and bank reconciliation duties. You’ll be a team player able to work with colleagues to post all the financial transactions into Sage. This position reports into the Finance Manager.

A knowledge of bank reconciliation where there are a significant variety of income sources is essential as the Hospice raises donations from many different sources including retail shops; Just Giving; Shopify; Paypal; direct debits etc. A working knowledge of Sage 200 and well developed excel would be helpful in order to quickly get to grips with the role.

This is a varied role within a friendly team, offering a competitive salary, generous annual leave allowance and contributory pension scheme. The role will include both office based and home working.

STARTING SALARY: The starting salary for all appointments (irrespective of experience or current salary) is 'Step 1' of the St Columba's Hospice salary scale

PAY PROGRESSION: Salary will be reviewed following 12 months completed service in the role at St Columba's and, subject to satisfactory performance in the role and at the discretion of the Hospice, salary may rise to 'Step 2' of the St Columba's Hospice salary scale.

HOSPICE SERVICE RELATED BENEFITS: Continuous employment at St Columba's counts towards the calculation of entitlement for all St Columba's service related benefits including annual leave allowance, occupational sick pay, maternity/paternity leave & pay etc.
