Hospitality & Catering Assistant

Hospice Band 2 – Starting salary £21,230 WTE per annum (following 12 month review, salary may rise to £22,263 WTE subject to satisfactory performance) pro-rata per annum + unsocial hours enhancement + Pension

37.5 hours per week (weekend work will be included)

We are looking to recruit a friendly, enthusiastic and motivated Hospitality & Catering Assistant to join our hard-working Hospitality team.

Your role is to provide patients within the inpatient unit with a high standard of care by ensuring that their individual catering requests are met.

You’ll be involved between kitchen and in-patient unit, clearing tables, washing pans pots and utensils, stacking/unstacking dishwashers, stripping of meal trays, stock replenishment and a variety of food preparation and cleaning duties.

There will be patient contact so must have good level of English language skills (understand and be understood) and candidates should be tidy and presentable. This is a multi-purpose role in which the post holder maybe required to work across any of the sections within the catering function   Experience would be an advantage, but is not essential as full training will be provided.  Starting salary on appointment will be £21,230 WTE per annum.  Salary may rise to £22,263 WTE subject to a performance & salary review which will take place following 12 months service in the role.

PAY PROGRESSION: Salary will be reviewed following 12 months completed service in the role at St Columba's and, subject to satisfactory performance in the role and at the discretion of the Hospice, salary may rise to 'Step 2' of the St Columba's Hospice salary scale.
