4. Inpatient Care

Our inpatient unit doesn’t just offer vital, round-the-clock specialist care and support at the end-of-life. It’s a friendly place that helps people living with life-limiting illness enjoy a better quality of life, whilst supporting their loved ones.

The Cedar Ward has 15 beds with a mixture of single and shared rooms. It plays a crucial role in providing specialised care for patients who need symptom management that cannot be effectively provided at home.

Our inpatients receive round-the-clock medical and emotional support tailored to their needs. We work with families to deliver effective pain relief, manage complex symptoms and ensure comfort, allowing people to maintain their dignity during their final days.

In 2023/24, there were 283 admissions with an average occupancy of 73%. We were also able to provide much-needed respite for caregivers, offering them a break from the demands of care while knowing their loved ones are in expert hands.

“The hospice was exactly what we needed. My dad was so comfortable there and the whole team was so caring – towards my dad and the entire family.”

“Thank you so much for the care and compassion shown to Mum. I hope you all realise what an amazing job you do. I couldn’t have coped without each and every one of you.”
