The Tesco Superstore on Broughton Road in Edinburgh has shown outstanding support for St Columba’s Hospice Care, raising an impressive £19,382 through year-round fundraising initiatives and community events.
For the past eight years, the store has been a dedicated supporter of the hospice and one of this year’s fundraising highlights included the 7 Hills of Edinburgh Challenge, a demanding 27km walk involving more than 700 metres of climbing. A team from the store raised nearly £2,000 by taking part in the event.
The team is also preparing for the Edinburgh Kiltwalk in September, further demonstrating their long-term commitment to supporting local hospice care.
A major contributor to their fundraising total is an ongoing book donation point in-store, launched by colleague Caroline Phillip. Customers are invited to take a book in exchange for a small donation, with contributions so far reaching an incredible £17,432. The initiative is supported by generous donations from both customers and local businesses.

“We’ve supported St Columba's Hospice Care for many years, and we’re delighted to be able to donate over £19,000 this year.
The hospice has supported not only our customers but some of our colleagues too, so it’s a cause that means a great deal to our community.
I’m incredibly proud of the whole team for going above and beyond in their fundraising efforts, and we’re so grateful to everyone who has donated along the way.”
