We invited Amanda Southey, Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser for St Columba's to share why payroll giving can be a great source of regular income for the Hospice.

“February is Payroll Giving Month. Payroll Giving is a really straightforward way of donating to the Hospice, as you, the supporter, don't need to do anything once it’s set up. It's amazing how these gifts add up and it goes to show that every penny really does make a difference. Payroll Giving makes it simple and tax-efficient to support the Hospice. Donations are taken directly from your pre-tax salary, so you benefit from full tax relief and your gift goes further. For example, donating £10 will cost you just £8 if you’re a standard taxpayer or £6 if you’re on a higher tax rate."

Our Hospice at Home Team is made up of specialist doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and occupational therapists. Over the past year, they have been able to provide hands-on care and support to 280 people in their own homes or usual place of residence. Our Family Support Team provided 1,238 counselling and bereavement support sessions offering practical and emotional support to families under the care of the Hospice. These services could not be provided without the on-going support and generosity of the local community."

If your organisation would like to support St Columba’s Hospice Care as part of Payroll Giving Month you can find out more information by emailing Amanda at asouthey@stcolumbashospice.org.uk or visit Payroll Giving Month.
