Therapets

We are so happy to see our fabulous Therapets and their lovely owners back at the Hospice! A big thank you to them all for returning to spread joy and furry goodness, after a long break due to the pandemic.

Sadly the lovely Cedric has died and he will be greatly missed. Cedric's best buddy Gus, pictured top right together, will now be coming to see us and we look forward to welcoming him.

Our team of awesome pets are:

  • Brodie & Skye, Golden Retrievers – Monday weekly
  • Molly, Black Cockapoo – Tuesday fortnightly
  • Maddie & Morgan, Spaniels – Wednesday fortnightly
  • Brodie, Cavapoo – Wednesday fortnightly
  • Quincey, Labrador – Thursday fortnightly
  • Gus, Terrier – Friday weekly

Accessible Clinical Practice

Marie Duggan is a practitioner and training provider offering Complementary Therapies in Cancer Care CPD eLearning for Massage, Reflexology and Reiki. She recognised that some therapists taking part in eLearning would welcome the opportunity to gain clinical practice within cancer care and palliative care settings. St Columba's was delighted to partner with Marie to offer a placement to Alison Hughes. You can read about Alison's clinical practice placement here:  https://www.cnhc.org.uk/accessible-clinical-practice

We are thrilled that Alison's placement with us led to her joining the team as our Volunteer Complementary Therapist.
