Sharing Knowledge and Impacting Practice

One of the most significant aspects of our education partnerships is the opportunity to share our knowledge and experiences with our professional colleagues. Through publishing articles in esteemed journals and contributing to book chapters, we have been able to influence practices in nursing, medicine, social work, and the arts in palliative care at both national and international levels. This exchange of knowledge enhances the quality of care we provide and ensures that our practices align with the latest advancements in the field.

Internal Education and Practice Development

Placements and External Education Programs

Collaboration with Queen Margaret University has allowed us to organize placements for students, doctors, nurses, clergy, and allied health professionals within our Hospice. This hands-on experience enables aspiring professionals to gain a deeper understanding of palliative care and fosters a new generation of compassionate caregivers. Additionally, our external education program serves as a platform to disseminate knowledge, best practices, and research findings to a broader audience, contributing to a well-informed healthcare community.

Being a well-recognised research-active hospice, we take pride in contributing to new knowledge in palliative care. Our partnership with Queen Margaret University has facilitated access to research opportunities, allowing us to be involved in international studies related to cancer's impact on individuals towards the end of life. Through this research, we aim to expand our understanding and improve the care we offer to our patients.
