Compassionate Neighbours – St Columba’s Hospice Palliative Care, Edinburgh

Build genuine friendships with local people who are socially isolated

If you have an hour or two a week to give and you’d like to connect with someone in your local community, Compassionate Neighbours could be the start of a whole new chapter in your life. It’s the chance to change your life and someone else’s too.

Becoming a Compassionate Neighbour can be hugely rewarding during which time you can build genuine friendships with local people who are socially isolated, lonely or who may have a life limiting condition.

We match you based on common interests, lifestyles and experiences and try where we can to keep matches in local communities. We encourage weekly get-togethers either by phone, Zoom or WhatsApp or in person.

As well as connecting with someone in your community, you have the opportunity to meet other Compassionate Neighbours through our regular get-togethers and peer support.

If you’d like to find out more or would like to apply, email Maggie at myoung@stcolumbashospice.org.uk or call on 07785 615 028.
